About CDSS

Canadian Desi Settlement Services (CDSS) is a Canadian Non-for-Profit organization committed to empowering people of all ages and backgrounds. Our focus area is to advance the public appreciation of arts by creating learning opportunities for artists, newcomers, and youth.

For the Indo-Canadian community our programs and services will be rounded to engage and enlighten the community through stimulating exhibitions and exciting, transformative experiences which can bring the artists on to the forefront.

For newcomers and youth, we strive to to create a place for information and referral services as well as programs which can assist them in their settlement in Canada.

Vision

Our vision is to educate, empower and enlighten Indo-Canadian community through culture, arts, heritage and settlement services which can enable them to successfully integrate into the Canadian society.

Mission

Canadian Desi Settlement Services will promote the rich cultures and traditions of its community members while providing a support system to youth and newcomers to settle down in Canada through events and need-based programs.

Mandate:

  • To advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by producing public art exhibitions, presentations, and performance art(s) events, and by providing a forum for qualified artists to exhibit, present, or perform their artistic works through participation in such events.

  • To provide referral services to newcomers and youth and train them in leadership, and skills development by organizing programs, camps, and workshops

Respect: We value each person who enters our doors and to treat everyone equally with kindness, empathy, and dignity so they feel they are heard.

Engagement: To create lasting change we believe that each member needs to be engaged in their community and in their efforts to grow in order to truly develop as one.
